Do you have an insatiable desire to buy things and then find they weren't really what you wanted in the first place? Do you find you buy compulsively, even when you know you can't afford it? Then you could be a shopaholic!

Purchasing any luxury or personal item should always give us a pleasant feeling, but if our credit card is taking the hit and we're not sure if we can pay the balance, then this can become a serious issue.

Very often things are bought to feed the feelings of anticipation and expectation associated with owning them, but the unfortunate thing is that as soon as we have purchased them we are looking for the next 'glittering prize' to feed the fantasy.

The main indicators you will relate to if you are a true shopaholic are:

Shopping to lift you mood

Looking forward to buying something, but feeling guilty once you've bought it

Possessing many similar items that are never used or worn

Compulsively buying more of the same items even though you are deeply in debt

Feeling depressed after a shopping excursion

Having to sneak your latest purchase into the house in case you partner sees it and goes mad!

Snow Comes to Central Texas For Christmas

Just in time for Christmas, snow falls in the Central Texas area on December 24th. This isn't a sight that people from Central Texas are used to seeing but the lawns and houses are covered in a light layer of white snow on Christmas Eve, 2009.

Light snow began falling afternoon in Copperas Cove as well as the Fort Hood and Killeen area. By late afternoon there was heavier snow; enough to cover the ground with a layer of white. Snow in surrounding Mills County was described as "heavy and sticking" and roads are dangerous throughout Central Texas with people being advised not to drive if they don't have to.

Just the day before the temperature in the Fort Hood/ Copperas Cove area was high 60s to low 70s. Children were playing outside without jackets but today brought some truly Christmas-esqe weather that this area is not used to. It's amazing how quickly the weather can change in Texas.

Along with the snow, the area had strong winds with gusts as high as 35 miles per hour. This winter storm which hit Central Texas is actually the southern end of a big storm hitting the country's Midwest and causing many holiday travelers to be stuck at airports.

While it's creating a mess for many travelers and leaving some residents in the US without power, this winter storm has created a white wonderland that Central Texans do not see very often. While my children are trying to scrape up enough for a mini-snowman, I'm putting a log on the fire and sitting down for some hot cocoa this Christmas Eve.
