Easy assembly. My 2 year old son loves this fire station set. It comes with everything! I couldn't believe the accessories. My 4 year old daughter ever tried to take his treadmill, big screen TV, and couch for her doll house. Very sturdy with vibrant colors, and great accessories! As for educational purposes it wonderful for imagination play.

We have been wanting to purchase this item for a few years and finally did! What a great purchase - our five year old loves it! The detail is unbelieveable - even my eight year old loves it! Outstanding Firestation - Gloria J. Moritz -
The quality of this Firestation is outstanding. Once we opened the box, we understood why it was so heavy. The quality and workmanship are superior, the variety of furniture (exercise equipment, grill, basketball court, etc) were a delight. Having the trucks, helicopter and ambulance as a part of the set was the selling feature, since another set required separate purchase and they were sold out of the vehicles. This toy will last for years and will probably be handed off to grandchildren.

I knew this would be the *perfect* Christmas gift for our 3 year old, fire-fighter obsessed twin boys. At Christmas-time, I couldn't get it anywhere and eventually found it in a small toy shop half-a-country away (for a more reasonable price than what Amazon had it listed for). I was *thrilled* when it finally arrived.
It's perfect for this age and older, time to move onward from FP Little People to a more "big boy" toy. However, it might just be a perfect toy to look at...NOT to actually play with.

STYLING & ASSEMBLY
The styling fire station is detailed and interesting. A lot for little kids to play with and not grow bored with. The fire house is fun too, its the perfect size for multiple children to play with at once. Assembling it was fairly simple, I think taking about 15 minutes from start to finish. They were thrilled when they saw it Christmas morning!

LONGEVITY OF INTEREST
They have played on and off with it. They especially enjoy the little fire fighters, they take rides in all the trucks pushed around our house.

DURABLE -- NOT
Unfortunately, one of the trucks fell apart Christmas morning, and furniture pieces seem to break apart by the week. My boys no longer find it fun to play with because even gentle play causes it to break. The pieces are made out of a very thin plywood type-wood, with thinner-than-toothpick-sized dowel/pins holding things together. The wood either pulls apart, or the dowels break, and/or the glue hasn't held. Its only a few months after Christmas and I'm simply heartbroken over this toy. It has *not* been played rough with in the least bit. It makes me want to just box it up and send it to the consignment store and try to sell it off while it is still in somewhat decent shape, because it won't be long until its all completely broken to bits. The fire house does seem to be holding up well, no issues with it or the men, but the trucks and the play pieces are total garbage.

SUMMARY
Great idea, but not worth the money.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun At Girls Camps

Oh, the days when summer camps were all the rage! Every year, thousands of girls either dread or look forward to attending several days or several weeks at a girl's summer camp. For most, girls camps mean fun in the sun, laughs and new friends. Many girls spend weeks looking forward to camp activities and events, while others aren't so sure.

Girls camps offer a multitude of activities to suit nearly every taste, but most offer summer activities like swimming, horseback riding, water skiing, rock climbing, arts and crafts and drama, just to name a few.

Depending on the wants and needs of large groups of girls in different parts of the country, girls camps also offer canoeing, river rafting, hiking or even fashion events. The sky is the limit when it comes to ideas, and camp counselors do their best to make sure that everyone has fun during their camp stay.

Girls camps offer young women between the age of seven and eighteen an opportunity to grow and learn new things, meet new people and grow in understanding. Most girls camps offer stay periods of two weeks to seven weeks, sometimes more depending on the time of year and the demand for turnaround.

Some camps are large, and can accommodate over a hundred girls, while others accommodate only a few dozen. Food and lodging are usually top notch, and cabins that hold anywhere from four to eight girls are to be expected, though larger cabins and dorm style shelters may also be available for large groups.

Some camps are located in the mountains, while others are located near a beach or anywhere in between. Depending on location, girls are offered a wide variety of classes and activities to keep their days, and many of their evenings, busy. Girls camps have come a long way since the 1940's, and today's camps offer the amenities that girls have grown accustomed to, like television, video games and arcade games.

Outdoor recreation activities include everything from tennis and volleyball to horseshoes and shuffleboard. In some areas of the country, many girls take care of animals while at camp. Horses, dogs, cats, birds and many other different kinds of animals teach kids what it's like to take care of and nurture another living creature, and these camps are especially liked by young girls around the country.

While the food in some girls camps isn't your mother's cooking, and your bed may not be as soft as your bed at home, girl's camps offer youngsters an opportunity to experience new people and situations. Confidence is one of the first changes that most parents see in their girls when they return home, that and a certain sense of self-sufficiency.

Camps offer more than glorified babysitting to today's kids. They offer instructional activities and situations that encourage girls to explore their surroundings and their own feelings and beliefs, not only about themselves, but others as well. Girl's camps are still as popular as they were several generations ago, which is a very good thing.

Wooden Toys For Little Girls

Little girls are treasures. I enjoy watching them play in their own little pretend world and think back to the days when I did that and also when my daughter was in that "little world". There are many toys in the market today for little girls to play with. I have a few favorites that I think are essential for little girls.

Little girls love to cook. What better way to introduce them to cooking then to give them their own little kitchen. I like wooden kitchen play sets best as the durability is so much better. Many wooden play sets include a wooden kitchen cupboard, wooden stove and wooden refrigerator. These are what I call the basic wooden kitchen sets. There are also a few "extras" which include a wooden dishwasher and wooden microwave. Another needed item for a kitchen is a wooden table and chairs. A wooden table and chairs is a very versatile toy that is well worth the money. Children can practice table manners while playing and also perhaps use it when coloring, playing with puzzles or many other activities.

All little girls love their babies and love to "mother" them. A little girl will feel much better if she knows her little baby is well cared for. A wooden doll crib, cradle or bunk bed will be a wooden toy that she will cherish. There are many styles of cribs and cradles. There are some that are stained while some are left unfinished. There are even some swinging doll cradles that look so very realistic. Some doll cribs come with a pillow and a delightful cozy comforter set. I especially like the wooden bunk beds set as many little girls have more than one doll that will need a good night's sleep.

Another wooden toy that little girls will love is a wooden doll swing. This wooden doll swing is hard to find but is designed like an outside yard swing. Little girls will love to swing their dolls on this old fashioned wooden doll swing. The wooden doll swings that I like best are made of a hard wood and have chains that are adjustable to lengthen or shorten the wooden seat.

Little girls are not just all about dolls. There are many little girls that love their dolls but also love to run and pretend in another world as well. Wooden stick horses are an excellent choice for little girls as well. Perhaps she has a dream of becoming a barrel racer! There are many types of stick horses. Some are made of wood, others are fabrics. Some wooden stick horses even come in a kit form so that she can custom design her own wooden stick horse. Other stick horses are constructed of soft poly fleece fabrics that are soft to the touch. They come in a variety of colors. Black, brown, gray, white are some of the colors and then there are the carousal type of stick horses that are full of colors.....even a bright colored blue with a brightly colored mane from yarn.

By giving your little girl a wooden toy, you are giving her a toy that will have durability and perhaps even your grandchild will enjoy playing with. No, you will not have to buy batteries but you will enjoy watching your little girl's creativity and imagination as she grows and matures into a young lady.
