Sasquatch Costume - Something Different For Your Halloween Outfit

A Sasquatch costume is perfect for Halloween. The legend of the Sasquatch, or Bigfoot as he is sometimes called, has been around on this continent for several centuries. Native Indians in North America knew of Bigfoot for hundreds of years, and this knowledge is on record.

The first recorded Sasquatch information by a white man was made by David Thomson, who was an explorer and a fur trader. He records finding a giant footprint in snow in 1811. This huge print was eight inches wide and fourteen inches long, and it was said to be in snow in what is the Jasper area of Alberta, Canada. Since that time there have been numerous recorded sightings of Bigfoot, and many footprints have been recorded.

A Sasquatch outfit is wonderful for a Halloween costume, and is not at all common. It is a conversation piece and an attention grabber. The white costume of the abominable snowman, who is native to the Himalayas, is very similar apart from the color. For North Americans Bigfoot is the best costume choice since he is familiar and recognisable.

Not only is this is a great costume for fancy dress events, but also for those who are practical jokers, and who would like to scare the bejabbers out of someone as a practical joke. You can just imagine the commotion resulting from Sasquatch appearing at your campsite when you are out camping!! It can range from total terror to amusement.

Some bigfoot sightings have been filmed or photographed, but are commonly believed, by many people, to really be a man in a Sasquatch costume or in a gorilla outfit. This is quite probably true in many cases, but then do we really know for sure? With this kind of history it is easy to choose Bigfoot as your costume this year.
